Circumstances

@ Da Vinci Art Alliance, Philadelphia, PA, USA

Inherently the "Circumstances" came to be for the artists to create and stitch together the cacophony of their work into this exhibit. For each artist, each piece's story tied their illusion of life to their reality, depicting the space between uncomfortable and comfortable existence.

For some, the work echoed a voice, illuminating their soul irregardless of external factors. For others, the work freed a voice to mask or unmask their soul upon choice.

For all, a way to soothe the ungrounding nature of construed reality and find the stillness of intimacy within the self.

The methodologies differed in precision, color, and subject, but our voice became apparent as our work synergized on the walls of this room to guide us home.

Our home.

Our soul.

And, the pieces of our essence that we could choose to let the world see.

Whether this exhibit is our raw voice's lifeline, human's eulogy, or our bare souls, we do not know. All we know is that we are heard, just like we always wanted.

Can you hear us now?

Because we can hear more than we imagined.

To Be Series Exhibition

The ‘To Be Series’ is an exhibition exploring the essence of being present, curious, and authentic in the experience of being human.

Each piece is a time capsule encompassing the rhythm of the infamous 2020-2021 pandemic devastating the world but, also bringing inspiration to the artist, Krishna Desai.

The pieces challenge the viewer to absorb the subject and apply their subsequent emotions to develop an awakening or parallel essence within themselves.

“Perpetually finding myself amidst clay.”

— Krishna Desai

Existence Exhibition: Ceramics

This exhibition explores sculpting clay with the energy, existence, and pain of the pandemic in 2021.

Each piece relieves the energies by dissipating them into carefully sculpted ceramics. The process includes white clay wheel throwing, bisque firing, Japanese design printing & glazing, and glaze firing.

The pieces are available for sale upon request. Please email me for more information: 12desaik@gmail.com.

The Artist

krish_florida.jpg

My journey led me to find the most unexpected beauty in art and connection within myself and others.  My art mainly focuses on ceramics, oil painting, sculpture photography, and charcoal drawing. These mediums have helped me to express my story, epiphanies, and emotions in ways that I cannot grasp otherwise.

I hope that my art will also find a home in you. If you have the desire, you can also connect with me at 12desaik@gmail.com.
